Purpose of role:

The Social Media Assistant role is responsible for creating social media content that will inspire and engage our followers at Primark. You will work directly with the Social Media Officer, Coordinator and other Social Media Assistants to create daily social media content across multiple social networks and support the Social Media Manager with ensuring the social media strategy is embedded in all worked shared on our social channels.

  • What You’ll Do:
    In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
  • Writing, scheduling and posting content daily across all Primark social channels.
  • Identify and create interesting and relevant content, working closely with the team to ensure that we are continually exploring new approaches and adopting a ‘testing’ culture.
  • Produce a weekly report to monitor the performance of content across channels and suggest improvements.
  • Liaise with internal departments to gain key information on product, such as product ORINs, to support content.
  • Day to day admin on the global social team
  • Work with the Social Media Officer, Social Media Coordinator and internal stakeholders on content, from conception to implementation.
  • Monitor, coordinate and engage with social media interactions through community management; identifying and creating engaging content that will promote interest.
  • Continuously monitor UGC from influencers, micro-influencers & fan community, selecting key posts for approval & inclusion in our social plan.
  • Developing content ideas and contribute ideas to wider team brainstorms.
  • Support the Social Media Coordinators and Social Media Officers in producing creative briefs for internal and external creative teams and agencies
  • Managing the ordering and returning samples for internal social shoots and content creation.
  • Attending events, store openings and shoots when possible to ensure relevant content is being captured and capture first-hand social content as required.
  • Work with the Social Media Manager and Social Media Officers to implement an overall social content strategy.

  • What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrable passion for social media and fashion with, ideally, 1+ years working in digital, retail or fashion journalism.
  • Current Social media knowledge from the latest social platform updates to emerging platforms
  • A passion for creating social-first content and be comfortable shooting on iPhone.
  • Pulse on breaking social media trends and constantly on top of what’s happening in culture
  • Have a customer-first mindset always putting yourself in their shoes when it comes to how you create content.
  • Great copywriting skills for writing social copy in brand tone of voice and short snappy lines
  • Great numerical skills for reporting and analysing stats and ability to look beyond the numbers to tell the ‘why’
  • Thrives in a busy and agile environment, who’s able to turn around a trend swiftly and ensure we’re always getting to market first!
  • Organised and process-oriented approach to work with the ability to keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are met.
  • A collaborative partner who develops positive relationships within the business and good problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, eager to get involved in a variety of activities.
  • A Primark and fashion superfan!
  • Act as an ambassador for the brand on shoots, with partner brands, talent/influencers and external agencies
