LOCUM BUS DRIVER

The Role:
Minibus Driver.
Location:
Children’s Services / Transport Services.
Reporting To:
Transport Manager/Children’s Services Manager/Children Service Coordinator or delegate.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean manual Irish Drivers Licence – Class B min – with commitment to obtain Category D1 licence within 3 months of appointment (at the candidate’s own expense). Candidates must also complete their CPC examinations/module and must acquire a CPC Qualification Card within 3 months. Applications from candidates who have commenced driver training with a view to achieving the D1 licence will be considered. Offers of employment will only be made upon proof of attainment of a D1 licence.
Experience:
Candidates must have adequate training and driving experience to enable him/her to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post.
Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is an advantage.
Tenure:
It is proposed to set up a locum panel of Drivers who will be called if and when required to cover for staff on various leave within the Services.
Working Hours:
Hours will be rostered on a locum basis, as and when required as per service needs. Hours will be mainly rostered Monday to Friday. However weekend and evening work may be required from time to time. The shifts may vary due to the changing needs of the people supported. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave:
22 days pro-rata per annum.
Remuneration:
Department of Health Driver (Patients/Clients Public Roads) 01st October 2024 - salary scale - €34,434 x 8 increments - €43,539 pro-rata per annum.
Driving Assessment:
Applicants may be required to undergo a Minibus Driving assessment by an Assessor nominated by the Brothers of Charity Services.
