Furniture Removals Foreman / Van Driver

Based in Dublin 11, Get Cracking Removals & Storage are looking to take on a new Furniture Removals Operative.

Experience in a similar role is an advantage.

The candidate:

• A confident experienced driver; Full Irish license
• Knowledge of map/GPS use
• Punctual
• Attention to detail
• Preparing packing list for shipments overseas
• Good with customers
• Able to lift heavy items
• Able to pack a van/truck
• Able to disassemble normal household furniture and reassemble
• Professional appearance
• Minimum 25 years old (still apply if over 21)
• Ideally you will have experience of driving a 3.5t vehicle or similar and a preference for a physically active job role. The work is mostly local, national and also has an opportunity to travel within Europe. Additional Travel tax free expense is paid for trips abroad.
• there is an opportunity to do trips to UK and Europe!

Responsibilities include:

• Lifting carpets, taking down curtains or taking apart large items such as beds and wardrobes
• Carrying heavy objects such as household appliances up and down several flights of stairs in a tenement building
• Detaching, packing and reinstalling IT and other office equipment
• Packing items into the van in a certain order, making sure that everything is fixed securely
• Driving the van or accompanying the driver
• Unloading the van and unpacking boxes, using padding materials to separate and protect boxed items
• Putting large pieces of furniture back together
• Positioning furniture in its new location
• Removing doors or windows to move bulky items through.
