Role Profile We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician reporting to the Quality Control Manager and primarily based in the chemical and physical testing laboratory with cover for other laboratory activities on site. This role will involve testing at all stages of production – raw materials, in-process and finished goods. This position is part of the laboratory shift rota covering seven days per week.

Responsibilities • Daily calibration check - Rosa Readers – Interim Duty; • Management of Bay, Silo and Tanker CIP – Interim Duty; • Upkeep of the bay aseptic samplers and QC testing of aseptic samples – Interim Duty; • Sample and perform QC testing on whole milk & skim milk silos – Interim Duty; • Compliance to test methods, standards and sampling frequencies as defined by plant and laboratory procedures and laboratory accreditation status; • Sampling, receipt and logging of all sample types, in process and final product; • Successful implementation and participation in internal and external proficiency testing; • Equipment cleaning, maintenance and calibration; • Excellent completion of all documentation, paper and electronic; • Day to day maintenance of laboratory hygiene standards; • Timely escalation of non-conformances or potential non-conformances; • Participation in laboratory investigations; • Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives; • Sensory analysis of final product.

Requirements • A third level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent quality-related course. • Strong communication with good interpersonal and team participation skills; • Excellent IT proficiency and understanding; • Problem Solving ability and data interpretation skills; • Flexible and dynamic with good organisational skills; • Understanding of or experience in sensory testing an advantage; • Understanding of Lean principles an advantage; • Demonstrated flexible attitude an advantage;
