Machine Shop / Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor the Machine Shop/Maintenance Technicians will provide the technical support on shift to optimize equipment performance and maintain tooling in order to ensure high quality precision polymer extrusion.

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, flexible and responsive to changing production demands. This position will suit individuals who are focused on technical solutions, problem solving and continuous improvement. The position available is for night shift.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

We are seeking applicants who meet the following essential criteria:

• Time served/qualified engineering technician
• Experience in the use of lathes, mills and general workshop equipment to a high standard
• Experience in the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment in a production environment
• Computer literate
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings
• Experience of working to high tolerances i.e. one ten thousandths of an inch

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• CAD
• Electrical experience
• Welding
• Previous polymer extrusion experience
