PERMAMENT FULL-TIME CONTRACT (35 Hours Per Week).

Salary:€63,279 - €74,509

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the ADULT SERVICES team as a full time Senior Speech and Language Therapist based at St Vincents Centre, Dublin 7 and St Joseph’s Centre, Dublin 15. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the planning, development and provision of specialist Speech and Language services from these Centres. Essential:

• A BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
• Full Clean Driving Licence with use of a car
• Applicants should possess Level 2 behavioural competencies of AVISTA competency framework as set out in the job descriptions.

The duties include assessment and intervention across a range of high dependence support units, step down facilities to support community living, as required.

Desirable:

• To provide a quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy service to adults with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability comorbid with psycho-social, sensory and physical impairments, in consultation with the supported individuals, their families and carers.
• To provide a Speech and Language Therapy service including assessment, intervention, programme planning, monitoring, consultation and/or onward referral services, as appropriate.
• To prioritise together with the Services Manager to optimise the quality, efficacy and equity of the service provided.
• To manage a complex clinical caseload, exercising advanced clinical reasoning, in making autonomous decisions and judgements daily. This involves acting within clinical knowledge base, to prioritise (in consultation with Services Manager and SLT Manager), to implement assessment, diagnostic formulation, care planning, intervention and discharge.
• To assess and recommend appropriate speech and language therapy programs, activities, skill development and communication aids considering person-centred needs, staff/carer needs, environment and available resources. Also considering quality of such equipment and value for money
