We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Staff Nurse to join our team in a Nursing Unit based in School of the Divine Child, Lavanagh Centre, Ballintemple, Cork.

Contract Type: Part time (term time) & Specified Purpose (maternity leave cover)

Contract Hours: 30 hrs per week, 44 weeks (term time) per annum

Salary Scale: €34,492 to €50,362 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33/34/36 days commensurate with experience pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

The staff nurse will be responsible for working on a dedicated team delivering quality standards of care and support to children with physical and sensory support needs, ID and Autism who attend the School of the Divine Child.

The successful candidate will work as part of the school team delivering a coordinated approach to the children/young people enrolled in the school. The staff nurse will work collaboratively with the staff in the nursing unit, liaising with school staff, families and the team around the child to ensure their nursing care needs are met in the school environment. The staff nurse will carry out a high standard of clinical care including assessment, intervention, and training and ongoing service delivery within the scope of the role with clinical oversight provided by the CNM1.

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

a) Be registered in the Intellectual Disability/Children’s Nurse/ General Nurse Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais (NMBI);

And

b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, (including a high standard of clinical and administrative capacity), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Annual registration

On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

· Hold full clean manual drivers licence and be willing to drive service vehicles

· Candidates should be eligible to work in Ireland.

Desirable Criteria:

· Experience of working with children with physical disabilities/ intellectual disabilities/ASD/ Behaviours of concern.
