This role will be based in the Medical Division The successful candidate will ensure value for our members by negotiating cost effective agreements with private Hospitals at competitive rates, whilst developing and managing relationships with appropriate management personnel.  Responsibilities:  •Manage the relationship with healthcare providers and negotiate, implement and maintain contractual arrangements for full cover agreements, at competitive rates. •Proactively pursue cost containment initiatives in conjunction with other key stakeholders to ensure that pay-out and costs are controlled and within budget. •Identify potential for efficiencies through improved practices and innovation, such as running competitions (e.g. tendering) to select providers  •Involvement in the production of Financial and Operating Budgets and reports for presentation to and approval by the Medical Director and Board of Vhi. Work closely with the Finance function in monitoring and controlling the Claims budget •Work closely with Claims function and other key stakeholders on the implementation of hospital contracts and issue resolution •Work with Product and Business Development and Marketing to enable and develop strategies to optimise the potential of Vhi in customer acquisition and retention and reflect Vhi customers’ changing needs •Develop and implement operational policies, protocols and guidelines for the efficient operation of Provider Affairs •Build strong interdepartmental relationships and promote a harmonious and collaborative organizational culture across all departments and support all team members by working together as a group to achieve organisational goals and uphold organisational Values, Mission and Vision •Maintain good mutually beneficial working  •Lead the implementation of projects to support the delivery of Vhi’s strategic goals ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and that perceived benefits are realised. •Use financial modelling techniques to assess, review and to implement change with Providers to deliver business benefits. •Demonstrate ability to conduct research and evaluate of new technology, healthcare services and facilities as required •Adhere to audit and risk management processes and compliance obligations with the team to actively identify, manage, monitor and report •Such other duties as may be identified by the Head of Provider Affairs from time to time.
