What you will bring: · Fully flexible across 5 days, it is a full time role which includes weekends · Minimum 1-year practical experience in a grooming salon · QQI Level 6 Animal Care/City & Guilds in Dog Grooming – not essential but would be an advantage. · Proficient in all aspects of grooming and clipping all dog breeds to a high standard. · Professional attitude who can communicate effectively with all salon customers and the wider grooming team to build trust and rapport with pet parents. · Time management: Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. · A passion for Animals: Interest in grooming/animal care. Work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure execution of St.Michael’s House strategy and assist in working through and analysing areas of overspend against budget. Ensure appropriate segregation of duties between tasks Sign off and review General Ledger journals and all key Balance Sheet reconciliations. and oversee the management of the daily Internet banking system. Close monitoring of organisation cash flow and bank account management. Supervise Household Expenditure processes. Oversee and optimise Creditor and Debtor Processes Preparation of reports for Audit & Finance Committee, EMT and other committee meetings and other ad Hoc reports as required. Attendance at Finance Committee meetings will be required. Oversee Finance systems (Dynamics, Megapay, HRIS) recommend improvements and risk assess processes and systems as necessary. Engage with the Integrated Financial Management System project of the HSE to ensure data migration is planned and managed for transition to SAP and key involvement in the implementation of the SAP system in St.Michael’s House Ideal candidate should hold a recognised Accounting qualification (preferably Chartered Accountant) and have had a minimum of 5 years post qualification in leading a team in a similar role. This will include the preparation of the annual budget for St. Michael’s House, the Integrated Management Reporting (IMR) and the Finance Committee documentation. Attendance at Finance Committee, IMR and other meetings will be required. Management and development of direct staff reports. The Management Accountant will be responsible for the development of costing strategies to enable St. Michael’s House to execute its business strategy, highlighting trends in major cost drivers, and forecasting the implications of these trends against approved budgets. The successful canididate will: · Lead and prepare the annual budget process, in support of the Strategic Business Plan. Document the underlying assumptions and processes. Present the draft budget and assumptions to the Executive Management Team for approval and implementation. Present final budget to Finance Governance Committee for approval. Manage to communication of the budget to various stakeholders and upload to the Accounts system. · Partner with the senior management team in the preparation of the Annual Service Arrangement (SLA) with the HSE which supports the delivery of key services to service users. · Prepare & review monthly accounts (IMR) for accuracy and completeness, highlighting trends in expenditure and forecasting their implication. Submit same to HSE and reply to queries where they arise in a prompt and clear manner. · Maintain register of funding from the HSE, and be able to produce data on historical changes in funding. Ensure SMH is fully funded for all HSE Circulars, School Leavers and any new service developments. Ensure that any DSMAT business cases for Changing Needs are accurately costed and monitor their submission to the HSE by operations. · Quantifying the financial implications of senior management team decisions, highlighting and interpreting the implications to non-financial managers such as Unit Heads. · Partner with HR function to review staffing levels, Whole Time Equivalents (WTE's), and related pay costs with Directors of Services, and make joint recommendations on suggested changes to key stakeholders. Produce a suite of WTE reports and make them available to the business and in particular Directors of Services. · Make recommendations for improved cost effectiveness and management of Non-Pay Costs. Within the format of monthly meetings, ensure Admin & Service Managers are fully aware of the non pay financial position of their units and discuss same with a view to being aware of the financial implications on SMH of operational developments. · Maintain detailed records of capital spend and ensure Director of Estates is informed as to costs incurred to date. Also be aware of future capital projects and their implications · Actively manage the recharge of pay and not pay costs to the six SMH schools, and be available to support Children’s services both on any issues re the schools, or related to Children’s PDS services. · Support Procurement in accordance with OGP requirements and ensure value for money in delivery of services. · Co-ordinate the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for all activities within your area and ensuring the adequate controls and procedures are in place. · Develop a suite of KPI’s by which business performance can be measured and explained and design the necessary reports required to measure business performance. · Support individual depts in drawing down grant funding and ensure that grant conditions are adhered to and required reports tracking performance are submitted on time. · Provide quarterly forecast of SMH pension position to the HSE. · Take part in Client Monies Household Audits where required by the Finance Dept. · Support the role out of new software, included HRIS and IFMS. · Adhere to the highest standards of ethics and integrity and ensure that we never lose focus of the service users who are our customers, while at all times complying with applicable public sector regulations. The successful applicant will have a proven record of success in the role of Management Accountant. He/she will have strong numeric and analytic skills, deliver high performance standards and can demonstrate strong leadership skills.
