We are now seeking applications for the position of a Health & Safety Administrator, reporting to the Group Head of Health & Safety, the successful candidate will focus on leading several group wide. projects including the implementation of a cloud-based H&S software platform and the further development of the Lakeland Dairies safety management system. The successful candidate will also have exposure to onsite operational H&S management experience supported by our team of experienced H&S co-ordinators and the Group Head of Health & Safety. The location of this role for the successful candidate will be flexible regarding which Lakeland site they are based (Killeshandra, Bailieborough or Killygarry) , but they will be expected to travel between all the other Lakeland sites and office locations as required. The successful candidate is required to hold a full clean driver’s licence. Individual: The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with a proven ability to work on own initiative. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be very important. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail. This is a fast-paced working environment so the successful applicant will need to be flexible, adaptable to ensure. deadlines and objectives are met. Education & Experience: Candidates will possess a third level qualification in Health & Safety or a NEBOSH general certificate. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Clerical Officers in SUSI typically work as Grant Application Assessors organised into teams reporting to a Team Leader who is assisted by a Team Captain. Following a comprehensive training programme involving classroom and practical learning, Assessors are responsible for the assessment of grant applications and for the awarding of student grants in line with the eligibility criteria set out in the Student Grant Scheme 2024. Duties include: • to review and decide on student grant applications at each process stage, • to meet required quality standards for their work and decisions, • to continuously improve the quantity and quality of their work output based on experience in the role, feedback received from their Team Leader and in line with expected learning and development targets for Assessors, • to complete any other work that may be assigned by the Team Leader. In addition to the above, Clerical Officers may also be assigned to work in other areas of SUSI which include Appeals, Quality Assurance, Payments, ICT, Communications, Corporate Services, Organisation Development, the Project Office, and Compliance. Essential Requirements • A post graduate diploma in Careers Guidance or Careers Guidance and Counselling OR • A Masters of Education (Guidance) OR • Equivalent post graduate qualification recognised by the Irish Association of Counselling and Therapists and the Institute of Guidance Counsellors. • Experience in the field of education or training, youth work, community development, or social science, or a teaching qualification as specified under Memo V7 or Circular 32/92 of the Department of Education.
