The role of the AMAU CNM2 is to manage the department, support patients, relatives and staff through the provision of clinical, managerial and educational excellence. The CNM2 will play a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of activity and resources associated with AMAU. In collaboration with key stakeholders the post holder will facilitate the implementation of the National Clinical Care Programmes with particular emphasis on the Acute Medicine Programme thus ensuring the provision of the highest standards of care is consistent with the hospital ethos and strategic plan. Clinical Nurse Specialist GI Peritoneal Malignancy
The purpose of this Clinical Nurse Specialist Gastrointestinal Cancer Survivorship ( CNS GI NPM ) The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work with the multi-professional Surgical and Medical oncology team in the promotion of a patient centred approach to cancer patients and their families. In doing so, he/she will provide nursing expertise, education and a management consultation service to patients, their relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team in all areas of this specialty. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to nurse-led quality initiatives which meet national, regional and local standards in cancer and supportive care. Clinical Nurse Specialist Hepatology
The Hepatology Nurse Specialist will take a lead role in providing an education, management and support service for patients with liver disorders including Hepatitis B service. Lead in the dissemination and implementation of evidenced based care in the writing of shared guidelines/protocols for patients with liver disease. · Have responsibility for the provision of specialist care to this patient cohort and will co-manage a case load of patients attending the Centre for Liver Disease. · Work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team providing physical, psychological and emotional support to patients with liver disease and their families. · Ward based role – reviewing & advising on specific individualised care needs of Hepatology patients. Sain-Altra Speisialtóir - Réamaiteolaí Background The South Infirmary- Victoria University Hospital provides the Rheumatology service to Cork/Kerry but also receives some patients from West Waterford and South Tipperary. The South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital Rheumatology Department Rheumatology consists of 2 WTE Consultants, 2 WTE Registrars 1 WTE Clinical nurse specialist, .5 WTE Staff nurse. Mission Statement The Rheumatology nursing service is committed to providing the highest quality patient cantered care to all patients and families with rheumatology conditions. Our focus is on patient education and support to ensure patient have an understanding of their disease process, rational for their medication which in turn leads to self-management of their disease. The nursing service participates in a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to patient care, which is underpinned by evidence based practice and professional guidelines. The aim of the service is to provide Rheumatology patients and their families with specialized knowledge and expertise in the area of Rheumatology in relation to their condition, its management, allied with emotional and psychological support. The aim of the department is to provide patient centred, evidence based care, to empower patients through education and health promotion to achieve self management of their condition and to deliver holistic care leading to improved quality of life. Advanced Nurse Practitioner
(i)Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) Care of the Older Adult (ID) Or (ii)Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP) Care of the Older Adult (ID) Horizons is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Care of the Older Adult) . The overall purpose of the post is to provide safe, timely, evidenced based nurse-led care to service-users at an advanced nursing level. This involves undertaking and documenting a complete episode of service-users care (assess, diagnose, plan, treat and discharge service-users) according to collaboratively agreed protocols and scope of practice in the clinical setting; demonstrating advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical leadership and decision-making skills. 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc The following criteria apply for registration as an ANP/AMP with NMBI. You must: (i) Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be eligible to be so registered. AND (ii) Be registered in the Prescribers Division. The cANP (Pathway 2) applicant will need to complete the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate. AND (iii) Have a minimum of 5 years’ post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 5 years’ full-time experience in the division of Intellectual Disability (Other Nursing disciplines with a minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience working in the area of intellectual disability may apply) AND (iv) Have at least three years of recent post-registration clinical experience, with one year of equivalent full-time experience in the specific area of practice. OR If the applicant does not possess the relevant specialist experience, they will be supported to attain one year’s specialist experience. AND (v) Hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in nursing/midwifery or a Master’s degree which is relevant, or applicable, to the advanced field of practice. The Master’s programme must be at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (Quality & Qualifications Ireland), or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice, in addition to clinical practicum. In recognition of services that span several patient/client groups and/or division(s) of the Register, provide evidence of validated competencies relevant to the context of practice. Alternatively provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 9 or higher standard, relevant to the specialist area of care (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), and in line with the requirements for specialist practice as set out by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery 4th ed (2008). OR If the applicant does not possess the relevant QQI NFQ Level 9 Qualification the applicant will be supported to undertake the required postgraduate education at QQI NFQ Level 9 qualification (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above) relevant to Care of the Older Adult (ID) and progress on Pathway Two. AND (vi) Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to Care of the Older Adult (ID) or will be supported to obtain the required CPD. AND (vii) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice All of the above must be achieved within 2 years for the candidate to progress on Pathway Two to be eligible to register as a ANP. AND (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative capacity for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 2. Annual registration (i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) for the role. AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Service user Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). 3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 4.
