Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position: Media Co-ordinator Community Media Further Education Project, Near FM Ref: MCG425 City of Dublin Education and Training Board (City of Dublin ETB) was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City. City of Dublin ETB is also responsible for the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). The Community Media Further Education Project will empower disadvantaged and marginalized groups to bridge the digital divide by stimulating and developing their abilities through the training in and application of media and Information and Communications Technology. Using creative and innovative approaches, the Community Media Project will support and encourage local organizations and individuals to re-engage with further education and lifelong learning while producing media content that will benefit their communities and themselves. Our Mission Statement obliges us to use our array of media technologies to work with local groups and to empower and train marginalized and disadvantaged groups in line with the City of Dublin ETB objectives. The project works with a diversity of local education organisations and disadvantaged groups by providing training in and application of Media and Information and Communications Technologies. Using the flexibility available for such a community-based partnership project, we have been creative and innovative in encouraging students and local people to engage and re-engage with Further Education and Lifelong Learning while producing media content that will benefit their communities and themselves. Starting pay on the Grade IV salary scale will be dependent on the applicant’s experience relevant to the post. School Completion Programme (SCP) Coordinator
INITIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Co-ordinate and implement the School Completion Programme plan as drawn up with the Local Management Committee in line with the agreed budget. ·Report and work under the direction of the School Completion Programme Local Management Committee in relation to all aspects of the project ·Provide direct support to the targeted young people as required. ·Organise and facilitate the provision of in-school, out-of-school, after school and holiday time supports for the targeted young people · Establish and maintain strong links with all relevant agencies ·Ensure the active participation of the other relevant partners ·Provide regular professional supervision to the Project Workers ensuring a high quality of work. ·Participate in training organised through TESS. ·Monitor and evaluate the quality of the programme through completing an Annual Report and Retention Plan to be submitted to TESS. ·Keep a comprehensive report and descriptions of all aspects of the Programme recording successes, failures and changes ·Identify and facilitate, in consultation with the School Completion Programme Local Management Committee, the provision of relevant in-service training for SCP Project Workers. ·Complete quarterly financial returns and annual Financial Compliance Reports to TESS. ·Co-operate with the Department of Education and TESS in relation to the evaluation and audit of the Programme and the collection of data and furnishing of reports required on a timely basis. Responsibilities: 1. To support the development of the Guidance, Information and Recruitment Service throughout GRETB as well as the establishment of GRETB Admission Unit. 2. This position requires Candidates to possess the following: · Have obtained at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise. This job description is intended as a guide to the general range of duties and is intended to be neither definitive nor restrictive. It will be reviewed from time to time in accordance with the evolution of the role of School Transport Escort. RESPONSIBILITIES OF BUS/TAXI ESCORT • Must ensure that they are on the bus/taxi at time of first pick-up and last set down. • Are responsible for the safety of children when opening and closing doors prior to ‘stop’ and ‘move off.’ • Assisting children to board and alight safely from the school bus/taxi. • Making sure all children are seated with appropriate straps, harnesses whereprovided. • Ensure that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point. DUTIES OF BUS/TAXIESCORT • Supervision of children travelling on bus/taxi • Maintain a good working relationship with the driver of the bus/taxi. • Act as liaison between Principal and/or Class Teacher and parents when required i.e., conveyance of messages and letter to parents. • Observe confidentiality in all aspects of work. • Be aware of particular disabilities of children in the bus/taxi and be briefed by the Principal on how to deal with same, e.g., epilepsy etc. • Perform any other duties relevant to the position of escort which may be assigned by the Principal from time to time. • Unless under exceptional circumstances, the escort should never leave the bus/taxi. • The escorts position on the bus/taxi should be where maximum control of children is achieved i.e., at back of bus/taxi. • Report all concerns to the Principal and/or Class Teacher.
