Most Wonderful Time for a Change

By Pamela DoyleDirector & Ideation Manager

One of the busiest times for Job Hunting is during the Christmas break, when a lot of people reflect on their careers and achievements or lack of them in the previous year. They may stayed in their current position up to now, as they waited for the Christmas bonus and with a few days off they're now looking to New Year resolutions to accomplish personal goals.

The majority of us also spend a little too much over the Christmas and thoughts of the credit card bill are enough to set the blues in as soon as those new year bells stop ringing. Some employees will set their eyes on a promotion internally and may research job boards to check salaries. For most though, a complete change of scenery or finding new employment from the get go will be on the cards. It's also a fact that more Irish emigrants returned home this year than the number that left, for the first time since 2009 and of course people typically come home at Christmas, so if you’re advertising you'll reach everyone.

Did you know that January 7th has been dubbed National Job Hunting Day due to the volume of jobseekers hitting job boards and websites. It's also a busy time for employers too as plans for new year budgets and forecasts are made, so it could be a mutually beneficial time for all parties.
