I had a technical support person once.

I noticed he loves going into computer code.

I asked him if he is interested in moving to software development. He said he would love to but does not have needed skills.

I said - all you need is love.

If you love what you do, you will become good at it.

Long story short - he became a great developer, and is now a principal software developer at major Internet company.
