1. Cleaner

DAILY

o Daily sweeping/vacuuming/cleaning of surfaces and floors in classrooms, corridors, offices as necessary

o Daily cleaning, wiping and sweeping in canteen area and staff room after break and lunch

o Mopping and making safe any water or spills on floors

o Cleaning and maintenance of reception area

o Removal of paper from desk areas and the separation and disposal of waste

o Cleaning and disinfecting toilet areas

o Reporting any damage or hazards

o Responsibility for the safe storage of all keys, fobs, hazardous materials, cleaning equipment and tools

o Securing the school doors and windows on a daily basis

WEEKLY

o Wiping down, dusting all window surfaces and removal of graffiti where necessary

o Thorough disinfecting and cleaning of toilet areas, urinals, toilet bowls and floors of toilet areas

o Cleaning offices including surfaces and floors

o Emptying the waste and recycling bins throughout the school

o Refuse bins to be left out for removal from premises

o Inspect all areas to identify problems needing attention

MONTHLY

o Carry out a review of all areas for cleaning and upkeep to identify and plan cleaning on a scheduled basis

GENERAL

o Responsibility for maintaining floor areas and surfaces to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygienic condition

o to support the schools Green Policy of Recycling and Waste Disposal

o Preparation of Examination Centres as necessary

o Preparation of school premises for special occasions

o Ensure that the school is cleaned during holiday periods

o Flexibility with regard to rotating duties with colleagues

o Working as part of a team.

Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Principal, Deputy Principal/designated teacher/ manager

2. Administrative Officer x2

• Athenry, Co. Galway

Salary: €51,340 - €66,744 per year The appointee will be delegated responsibility for management functions as determined by Head of Function/Director of OSD/CE.

Main Duties of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

·        Ensuring the effective management of the ICT Team, ICT Service Desk and external technical support providers with a customer-centric approach to service delivery to meet standards and targets.

·        Acting as a point of escalation for the ICT Team.

·        Accountability for the delivery, continuity and effective support of quality infrastructure and services for offices, schools and centres

·        Providing an infrastructure that will maximise the potential of and promote the use of ICT

·        Project managing ICT Projects ensuring standards, targets and budgets are adhered to

·        Developing, implementing and managing a service catalogue for offices, schools and centres.

·        Developing, implementing and managing asset management for offices, schools and centres.

·        Procuring ICT hardware, software and licences (including contract negotiation)

·        Establishing and promoting appropriate ICT policies, guidelines, standards and processes such as ITIL and Project Management methods

·        Ensuring the adequacy of IT systems and their support

·        Investigating and implementing any new technologies that would contribute to the improvement, efficiency and enhancement of existing information systems

·        Developing and managing disaster recovery/business continuity solutions that minimise the risk of system outages and data loss. Taking ownership of backup systems and DLP.

·        Ensuring the security and integrity of data and ICT infrastructure including addressing Cyber Security

·        Providing appropriate reports on ICT services, performance, projects to Senior Management

•       Developing and implementing of organisational policies and strategic plans as required in association with the Director of OSD and CE

•       Playing a key role in leading organisational reform and support other members of the senior management team to facilitate reform and innovation in the management and administration of our services

·        To keep up to date with developments in the education and training sector/broader environment and ensuring CPD in matters relating to the post

•       Representing GRETB on external bodies as required

·        Presenting to GRETB’s Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Finance Committee as required:

·        Preparing monthly reports and annual plans/reports, and or other submissions as may be required from time to time by the Chief Executive, Director of Organisation Support and Development, the Board of GRETB, Auditors and other appropriate organisations/bodies

·        Promoting and assisting in the implementation of corporate governance, risk management, value for money, internal control systems and compliance

·        Implementing relevant legislation, circulars and codes, and monitor compliance levels

·        Developing the capability of team members through feedback, coaching and creating opportunities for skills development, as well as addressing any performance issues as they arise

·        In consultation with senior management, promoting and implementing ICT solutions to improve efficiencies in the organisation.

·        Deputising for the line manager or equivalent, as required

•       Documenting risk management, data protection, cyber, Health and Safety etc. concerns to ensure key risks are eliminated through documented investigations and root cause analysis across all ICT systems

·        Utilise systems, skills, tools to aid in the resolution of support calls to improve the end-user experience

·        Develop and implement proactive ICT support

·        Any other task or duty which may be required from time to time by the Assistant Principal Officer/Director of Organisation Support and Development/CE
