Personal Assistants to Support Independent Living

Young Woman seeking support to create her own pathway to Independent Living in Clarecastle, Co. Clare

I am a vibrant young woman in Clarecastle seeking 2 Personal Assistants to support me in daily living, community involvement, and personal development. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and creative, helping explore new social and recreational opportunities while respecting my independence and providing overnight support.

Hours - Rates: Shift patterns include 5.00pm - 8.00am, sleepover included: €232.20/shift, and 11am-1pm: €36/shift, four days per week. These hours will be divided between two successful candidates.

Candidate Requirements:

• Excellent communication, patience, and empathy
• Sense of humour and fun approach
• Willingness to work within the philosophy of Independent Living
• Good organisational skills, reliability, and trustworthiness
• Own transport highly desirable for commuting and community support
• Garda vetting and mandated training will be required

Key Responsibilities:

• Encourage community connections and facilitate social outings
• Assist with meal preparation, light cooking, and healthy eating habits
• Accompany to events, activities, and appointments
• Assist with personal care and daily routines,
• Support with planning and safe decision making
• Overnight support
• Collaborate with my Assisted Decision Making Supporter family member and I and adhere to my support plan

Desirable: Experience of supporting individuals with decision making support needs
