Lakeland Dairies is Ireland’s second largest Dairy Co-operative. We process in excess of 1.8 Billion litres of farm produced milk annually, collected from our 3,500 high quality milk suppliers, across 15 counties in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Food Ingredients Division have invested in many new technologies over the years, inherently important to differentiate the ingredients that deliver the nutritional, functional and cost effective solutions to our customers worldwide. To maintain this positon our R&D, quality and production teams participate in collaborative projects with some of the most knowledgeable people in dairy technology. These comprise of researchers from dairy research institutes like DPTC, Teagasc and leading academic Universities in dairy science within Ireland and abroad. This is vital to our fundamental success.

We are seeking applications for the position of NPD Technologist based in Bailieboro, Co. Cavan. Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to develop new product and processes in line with the company strategic direction.
Individual: Analytical, patient and consistent person who likes to get things right. Customer and solution focused, result oriented, self-motivated and passionate within area of expertise. Be disciplined in developing systems and procedures, with persistence to see tasks through to conclusion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a cross functional teams, questioning in order to assess situations and come to agreed conclusions. Commercial acumen is desirable. The person appointed also requires high learning agility.
Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in NPD development in dairy, baby food and beverage industries would be preferred but not essential. Good Microsoft office, presentation and scientific writing skills. Project management - ability to plan and deliver projects within required timelines and budget.
Educational: The ideal candidate should have a minimum B.Sc in Food Science or related discipline. Qualification in a closely-related discipline will be considered.
