Administrative Officer
The NAPCP (National Association for Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy) is a recognised accrediting body for counsellors and psychotherapists throughout Ireland. The Association is seeking to recruit an Administrative Officer to further strengthen our services to members.
The Role:
To work in conjunction with the Chairperson and Board of Directors in the planning, management and operation of the Association in addition to providing the administrative tasks of the organisation.
The Person:
Will have a strong desire to foster NAPCPs ethics, ethos and mission. They will be able to absorb and impart information to others on a factual basis. A good communicator, they will be positive and enthusiastic, but able to work within procedures which deal with standards and quality. The possession of administration, financial and IT skills will be vital to success in this function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Board and actioning Board decisions
- Managing the Counsellor, Supervisor and Course Accreditation process
- Maintaining and updating member database, including member subscriptions and renewals
- Liaising with relevant external groups
- Creating and distributing quarterly Newsletter
- Managing communications to members via email and phone
- Organising and attending Workshops both online and in person (in Dublin)
- Organising and attending Board Meetings monthly, liaising with Board Members and keeping minutes
- Organising and attending Annual AGM and keeping minutes of AGM
- Maintaining and updating the organisation’s website and updating social media with new events and news in the profession
- Keeping the organisation’s accounts and working with the company accountant
- Preparing monthly progress reports for the Board
- Handling garda vetting applications
- General administrative duties
Key Skills and Experience
- Previous management experience essential
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, mail merge, database applications and social media
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent administration and finance skills
- Preferably experience within a charity/non-profit organisation/good knowledge of the Counselling/Psychotherapy profession.
Salary Range: €16,000 - €17,800 per year depending on experience
Working hours: *9 am – 1 pm Mon-Thurs, but must be flexible to attend workshops which take place on Saturdays at least once a month. Also, must be available to attend Board meetings on the first Monday of every month from 7 pm-9 pm online
Start time: Immediate
*Time is given in lieu of weekend or evening work.
Probation period of 6 months.
