Staff Education, Training and Development Department (SETDD) – Administration

We are seeking applications for the following permanent role:

Administration Grade III (Permanent Post) (28 hrs per week)

ABOUT:

St. Michael’s House (SMH) provides services and support to people with disabilities, primarily with intellectual disabilities (ID) and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and their families and supporters in the greater Dublin area. Currently, we provide a range of services and supports to over 2300 service users, including 1366 children with complex needs. We employ over 1800 staff across a range of roles and grades; direct support workers, social care workers and leaders, persons in charge, nurses, doctors, managers, clinical staff, administration, ICT, transport, education and training and maintenance. Role Description:

The person appointed will assist with the coordination, development and effective operation/implementation of the administrative functions within a growing and expanding staff education, training and development environment. They will also take on limited receptionist duties within the Goatstown Head Office as required. Grade IIIs are normally assigned specific areas of responsibilities which may change as needs change.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish. Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination.

OR

  • Level 5 qualification or equivalent

Essential Experience

  • 2 years previous experience in administration
  • Familiarity with databases including data collection and inputting
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent IT skills including strong proficiency in MS Word & Excel
  • A proven ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexible and the ability to multi-task
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • An ability to be highly professional and confidential
  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative, and as part of a team
  • Diary management and experience in Minute taking

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with June 2026 HSE revised consolidated Clerical Officer Grade; point 1; € 31,934 – point 15; € 49,416 LSI per annumbased on workinga 35-hour week or pro rata.

Applicants without public sector experience will be placed on point 1 of the pay scale.
