About the Opportunity

 Dairygold operates its Agri Business to service the needs of the Society’s farming Members. It is Ireland’s second largest Agri trader combining grain-intake, milling, feed, fertiliser and farm requisite sales. It services the Dairygold catchment region encompassing counties Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Clare. We are pleased to advertise for the role of 

Agri Graduate. 

Please note this is a 2 year contact with an immediate start and is based in Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements 

  • Must hold an a minimum of a third level degree (Level 7 or 8) in Agricultural Science. 
  • Working with the Nutritionist in a nutrition helpdesk setting to provide advice to customers and suppliers on animal nutrition, milk yields, diets and finishing cattle.
  • Assist in the implementation of a continuous improvement programme within the Agri Operations division.
  • Work with the production team to drive efficiencies, energy reduction and asset management programmes in the milling and grain departments.
  • Assist the laboratory staff in carrying out analysis on feedstuffs, grain, grass, silage and soil.
  • Gain logistics experience through transport scheduling and production planning.
  • Assist the Technical Advisor, Agri Field Sales Managers and Inside Sales Support to achieve maximum market share of agricultural inputs and optimum margin within designated areas.
  • Provide accurate and relevant product information to assist customers in buying choices.
  • Participate in the development of strategies for the further expansion of sales of the widest possible range of Society products to all existing and potential customers.

Rotation Possibilities Graduates previously recruited into Agri Operation roles have been placed in the following areas:

  • Agri Transport scheduling and production planning.
  • Production and Asset Care departments.
  • The Agri Services laboratory.
  • Nutrition Helpdesk.
  • Grain department
  • General milling and grain administration.
  • Agri Operation Sales working in field sales, sales promotion and advisory services.
