Communications Project Manager

A vacancy has arisen for a Communications Project Manager in All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC).

AIIHPC is a collaborative of hospices, universities, health and social care organisations and charities on the island of Ireland. AIIHPC advances education, research, and policy and practice to improve the palliative care experience of people with life-limiting conditions and their families

Communications Project Manager

Reporting to the Programme Manager – Policy and Engagement with a lead for policy and engagement, the post-holder will develop and implement communications plans and associated activities in pursuance of AIIHPC’s mission to improve palliative care, across all AIIHPC’s work areas. The post-holder will identify mechanisms through which AIIHPC can promote greater understanding of palliative care through supporting Palliative Care Week, the promotion of The Palliative Hub and AIIHPC’s research, policy and engagement and education and practice programmes while also generating awareness of AIIHPC across the island of Ireland and internationally.

The post is a 0.8 WTE / 4 days per week specified purpose contract (Until mid October 2026) with a salary of €53,018 - €59,541 per annum pro rota. Salary is strictly calculated based on level of experience.

Essential Requirements

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a communication role in the past 5 years

Qualifications:

  • Degree or recognized Professional qualification or equivalent in communication marketing or public Relation or equivalent Discipline.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills including writing for public use, editing and proofreading.
  • Experience of developing and implementing integrated communication/marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge & experience of developing accessible, creative content for various channels.
  • Knowledge & experience in developing and tracking social media content, and managing digital media channels.
  • An ability to priorities, perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and project manager a number of initiatives.
  • Excellent IT skills: including MS Office suits
  • Ability of work cooperatively with a range of people, both individually and with groups and organization.

Transport:

  • Have a current full driving licence and have access to a form of transport to allow them to undertake the function of the post.

Desirable Requirements

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience.

Core competencies:

  • Experience of communication in health care environment.
  • Experience of working across the island of Ireland
  • An understanding of the community and voluntary sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of palliative and end of life care.
