Job Overview
Applications are invited for the position of an Animal Technician within the Research and Development department. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Clinical Veterinary Surgeon. He/she will care for a number of species on a daily basis including handling, feeding and recording of data associated with their care in accordance with the quality standards set by the company.

Main Activities/Tasks
- Feeding and general monitoring of animals.
- Recording of data relevant to the above activities.
- To assist with the maintenance of the animal units.
- To carry out any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Essential Criteria:
Applicants must therefore demonstrate the following essential criteria on their application form in order to be considered:
- At least 1 years’ experience working with animals.
- GCSE English or equivalent
- Experience recording data and working with paperwork.
- Ability to work weekends on a rota basis.
- Good teamwork skills.
Due to the nature of the role preference will be given to applicants demonstrating the following desirable criteria:
- Previous experience of working in a Good Laboratory Practice environment.
Duration: Full time, Fixed Term 12 month Maternity cover
Location: Newry
