Animal Technician

Applications are invited for the position of an Animal Technician within the Research and Development department. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Clinical Veterinary Surgeon. He/she will care for small animals on a daily basis including handling, feeding and recording of data associated with their care in accordance with the quality standards set by the company.

Main Activities/Tasks
  • To assist with the restraint of small animals.
  • Feeding and general monitoring of small animals.
  • Recording of data relevant to the above activities.
  • To assist with the maintenance of the small animal units.
  • To carry out any other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Essential Criteria:
  • At least 1 years’ experience working with animals.
  • Good written English (Secondary/High school level).
  • Experience recording data and working with paperwork.
  • Ability to work weekends on a rota basis.
  • Good teamwork skills.

Desirable Criteria:
  • Previous experience of working in a Good Laboratory Practice environment.
  • Particular experience working with dogs and cats.
