About the role

Kerry is dedicated to driving innovation in the dairy industry through advanced enzyme solutions. Our commitment to leadership in dairy enzyme development is demonstrated by our collaborative approach with customers, prioritizing enhanced nutrition, superior flavour and texture, and leveraging the sustainable benefits of enzymes.

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our Dairy Enzyme Application Team as an Applications Technologist. This role is based at the Kerry Global Technology and Innovation Center (GTIC) in Naas, where you will collaborate with a global network of professionals.

The position provides access to cutting-edge laboratory resources, including facilities for enzyme characterization and a dedicated dairy pilot plant for application trials.

Key responsibilities include leading laboratory initiatives related to our innovation project portfolio and contributing to targeted customer projects.

As our dairy enzyme segment experiences significant growth, this position offers substantial opportunities for professional advancement and career development.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct laboratory experiments aligned with innovation pipeline priorities
  • Data- and statistical analysis, report writing and presentations to wider team and management
  • Manage daily maintenance tasks in laboratory, including ordering of chemicals and consumables
  • Take part of selected customer meetings
  • Take active part in scouting for new enzyme innovations and competitor surveillance/benchmarking
  • Approximately 10 % could be allocated to travelling for customer or internal meetings

Qualifications and skills

  • Master or PhD within Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Dairy Science or similar.
  • Experience with enzyme research or applications, preferably in food applications
  • Experience with enzyme assay development and small-scale application trials would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in basic statistical analysis and data treatments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English
  • Aspirations to develop project management skills and to grow in the current position.
