About Activ8 Solar Energies: 

Activ8 Solar Energies are actively seeking apprentice Electricians to assist with the installing & commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems. This position will be based out of our four locations; Carrickmacross, Naas, Cashel or Ballinasloe. This is a full time permanent position inclusive of a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and additional benefits.

The Opportunity: 

As an apprentice Electrician you will work and train alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience while completing the electrical apprenticeship programme.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar panels and electrical components according to Safe electric specifications and SEAI code of practice. 
  • Help prepare the cables for the power supply for solar systems. 
  • Help troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in solar systems. 
  • Learn how to provide technical assistance to customers regarding their solar systems. 
  • Work with the team to ensure projects are completed on time. 
  • Assist in keeping accurate records of all work performed and materials used. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards. 

Requirements: 

  • Must be eligible for registration with SOLAS as an Electrical Apprentice. 
  • Keen interest in electrical work and technology. 
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards. 
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work well in a team. 
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn. 
  • Prior exposure to electrical or construction work would be advantageous (summer work or work experience)

Schedule: 

Monday to Friday – Typically 1 Installation per day.
