Apprentice, Quality Engineer
This position provides the Apprentice Quality Engineer, as part of their formal on the job training and college studies, the experience of working within the Quality department of a regulated medical device company. Under close supervision, the apprentice will provide basic Quality process support to a project or function.
Under supervision, assist Engineers in providing basic design, technical and operational support to manufacturing processes in connection with the Quality System Improvement Plan.
Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice, system safety and promotion of compliance.
Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects
equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming
products, low yields or product quality issues.
Interface with Materials Science, Design and Quality Assurance departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.
Supports Engineers in the Validation, Appraisal and support of process and
material suppliers as required.
Participate in FMEA and PPAP activities associated with product transfers and launches.
Under supervision, support capital acquisition activity from specifying
equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation.
Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with
support team members and with external agents.
Participate in cross-functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives.
Apply project management methodologies and Kaizen improvement philosophy to manage production, product, design, process and systems improvements.
