What is an Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision?

Applegreen are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Retail Ireland Skillnet and are actively recruiting for individuals who are passionate about retail and who are looking to pursue a career in this fast-growing industry. The Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision is a 2-year programme that allows you to both work full time in one of our Applegreen stores while also gaining a Level 6 qualification at the same time.

The programme combines learning in the workplace with classroom, online and independent learning. Apprentices will attend classroom and online classes 24 days each year from 10am – 5pm. Classes are delivered in three locations, including Cork, Dublin and Galway and modules are delivered from September to May/June each year. The modules covered over the 2 years will provide strong theoretical underpinning of each topic and practical application in the retail environment.

  • On completion of the programme, you will attain an Advanced Level 6 Award which is recognised nationally and internationally.
  • Graduates can also gain access onto Year 2 of the Retail Management Practice Degree.

  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You embrace change in a dynamic and fast pace environment

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older to obtain a place on the programme.
  • Grade O6/H7 or above in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects (including Maths F2/ O6/ H7 along with English or Irish O6/H7) or a full QQI Level 5 or higher qualification.
  • Applicants who are 18 and over but do not meet the traditional academic/certified entry requirements, may also seek entry based on their prior experiential learning (i.e work experience). This will involve presenting supporting evidence and undergoing a Recognition of Prior learning interview with Retail Ireland Skillnet.
