Asset Management Planner

The Airfield Maintenance Planner’s role is to anticipate and eliminate potential delays by planning and coordinating Airfield Asset Management resources, parts, materials, equipment, and area access. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Reliability Engineering Manager where principal responsibilities include planning and coordinating all planned maintenance activities performed by the Airfield Asset Management Teams. The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and facilities by coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage daily with relevant Airfield System Managers, Delivery Managers, Team Leads and Airside Ops department to develop a robust plan, in advance of the following week(s).
  • Ensure jobs are prioritised from the Asset Management CMMS backlog, for preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance for an efficient work execution by the Airfield Asset Management Teams.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team, suppliers, and procurement to secure all necessary parts (stock and non-stock) are available before the work is scheduled.
  • Ensure any specialist tools or equipment are available to carry out required tasks.
  • Ensure associated work documentation are linked to Assets, Work Orders and PMs within Maximo (TMP, RAMs, Ops Closure Drawings etc.)
  • Compile weekly schedules based on job requests, preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance backlog and adhere to statutory compliance window.
  • Lead the planning of work with relevant stakeholders, managing a Permit to Work system where required, coordinate and plan access to restricted areas with third party airport stakeholders.
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant Stakeholders & APOC for the withdrawal of landside and airside facilities as required.
  • Support the co-ordination of contractor site attendance, awareness briefings, and communication of work being undertaken in conjunction with the wider airfield asset management team.
  • Lead weekly planning meetings to ensure team adherence to KPI’s and drive awareness to team of the importance of correct data that enters Asset Management’s CMMS is accurate and concise to maximize reporting capabilities.
  • Attend monthly planning meetings and present compiled reports in agreed template for review in advance of the meeting.
  • Deliver team performance reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Act as a Maximo ‘Master User’ to identify misuse/incorrect entry of data and liaise with Asset Managers & Maximo team to drive improvements.
  • Support System/Delivery Managers in the provision of asset performance data and make recommendations as appropriate for continuous improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and best practices in all maintenance activities, and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Assist with the planning and scheduling of training events and ensuring events are recorded in Maximo.
  • Investigate, promote, engage, and implement predictive maintenance regimes to meet the business needs in line with industry best practice.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs, assess performance, and plan maintenance tasks accordingly.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to maintenance teams on maintenance planning processes, procedures, and tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years minimum experience in relevant trade or bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computerised maintenance management systems (Maximo) and Microsoft Office applications desirable.
  • AutoCAD experience or marking up drawings desirable.
  • Hold and Maintain a Full Clean Drivers Licence.
  • Knowledge of Lean Maintenance Principles desirable.
