Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Company Accountant the Assistant Accountant will provide a key role in assisting with the production of accurate accounting information for the Finance team and analysis of monthly results for the business in general.

Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Company Accountant the Assistant Accountant will provide a key role in assisting with the production of accurate accounting information for the Finance team and analysis of monthly results for the business in general.
The Role:
- Assist and co-ordinate finance team in preparation of monthly management accounts;
- Posting monthly journals and preparing general ledger reconciliations;
- Carry out variance analysis v budget and investigate/explain variances;
- Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to support decision making;
- Responsibility for compliance (VAT & statutory returns);
- Assist in the preparation of the information required for the year end audit and annual budget.
- Will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Must possess third level finance/business qualification or equivalent.
- Must have strong IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel;
- Excellent administration and analytical skills, organised and able to prioritise workload;
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a busy team;
- Ideally have experience of operating computerised accounting software.
