Assistant Head of Community Services

Permanent Full Time Contract

Location: Limerick City & County

In conjunction with the Head of Community Services, the person appointed to this post will be responsible for the day to day management of day, residential, respite and transport services in Limerick City & County.

The requirement of the post is to maintain and further develop a personalised range of supports which will meet the current and emerging needs of people who avail of the services.

Essential

  • Possess a relevant third level qualification with registration with regulator as appropriate. e.g. Social Care, Nursing (RNID), Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Teaching, Youth and Community Studies, Psychology, Social Work all to a degree level qualification, Bachelors of Education, Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Education or Community,
  • Possess a relevant management qualification
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of providing services to adults with an Intellectual disability
  • Have at least 4 years post qualification experience in people management
  • Have a proactive approach to leading, driving and implementing change with excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills
  • A full clean driving licence and use of your own car is an essential requirement
  • Strong leadership qualities, highly motivated, innovative with the ability to work on own initiative along with the skills to manage and influence staff in a team working environment
  • Have a strong working knowledge of New Directions Standards
  • Have a strong working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of providing Day & Residential services to adults with an Intellectual disability
