The Role:
Participate and take the lead in daily shift briefings and coordinate daily production activities to ensure key objectives are met
Monitor equipment condition, highlight problems and work closely with support departments to ensure solutions and repairs are completed to a satisfactory manner.
Liaise with support departments to ensure production output and shipment targets are achieved
Support continuous improvement of the department in the following areas:
. Productivity
. Quality (dross, material specification and material control)
. 5S
. Health and safety
. Training and development 
Represent the department in a positive and productive manner, internally and externally
Participate in production planning and scheduling activities, i.e. metal delivery schedule and stock control
Develop personnel to improve the department’s performance
Communicate job expectations and company objectives and information
Deputise for Manufacturing Manager in his absence
Participate with team working, information sharing and Continuous Improvement Programmes
Ensure compliance with the Company health, safety and environmental policies and management systems
Other duties as assigned

Essential Criteria:
Previous experience in supervising/ managing within a die casting environment 
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be capable of working productively in a pressurized environment
Able to lead and motivate teams and create a positive environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
Analytical and problem solving skills
Planning and organizing skills

Ability and confidence to make prompt, clear and tough decisions

Must be able to work longer hours when necessary and be contactable by phone when needed for out of office hours’ support
