Fixed Term Contract - Two Years
We are recruiting for Assistant Psychologists in the Psychology Department. These are 2-year contract posts.
Assistant Psychologists are managed and supervised by St Michael’s House Psychologists, while working alongside PICs and frontline staff in our Adult Services. They contribute to psychological and positive behaviour support interventions, including carrying out systematic observations and functional assessments; recording, monitoring and evaluating interventions and training programmes; contributing to evidence-based clinical formulations; assisting with staff and service-user training programmes; conducting research literature reviews; assisting with research and evaluation projects, etc.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or Equivalent) in Psychology at 2.1 level or above from a PSI-accredited Psychology course.
- Experience and interest in supporting adults with moderate to profound Intellectual Disabilities.
- Full, clean Driver's License.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of working with adults or children who are Autistic and have an Intellectual Disability.
- Training and/or experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
- Strong IT skills.
- Masters level qualification in Psychology
- Research and evaluation skills
SALARY SCALE: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated pay scales
Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week.
