Our Climate Capital segment is central to the delivery of these ambitious targets, investing in large scale renewables and infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America. This is the fastest growing area of the bank’s loan book. 

This is a unique opportunity for experienced individuals to join this high performing, ambitious team, as we build out our international platform and directly contribute to global climate action goals.

You will be required to support best in class portfolio management and risk assessment across Climate Capitals growing portfolio.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Proactively manage an existing Portfolio of customers within the Credit Policy framework of the Bank
  • Monitor operational performance of customers by reviewing technical reports and construction/operational updates from customers or advisors
  • Monitor financial performance and covenant compliance by reviewing and understanding financial statements and financial models with an ability to provide clear analysis.
  • Write credit papers for annual reviews and transaction amendments for consideration by the relevant Credit Authority
  • Perform financial modelling analysis and run detailed sensitivity analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with the Origination team, sharing key insights on annual reviews and transaction amendments.
  • Manage and play a key role in the development of more junior staff members
  • Enhance relationships with new and existing customers with good communication and customer focus
  • Form an integral part of the risk management culture in AIB and adherence to codes of conduct, laws and regulation
  • Support credit reviews and internal/ external audit engagements for the Climate Capital portfolio
  • Collaboration with other parts of AIB including Credit Risk, Treasury and Operations Teams

What you Will Bring;

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • 5+ years' experience within a similar area which could include Banking, Advisory or Industry
  • Strong financial analysis, strong credit skills and proficiency in financial modelling
  • A proven awareness of sustainable lending
  • Analytical mindset and results focussed, who is also a Team player with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Knowledge and experience of the development and business application of credit risk modules utilised for the calculation of regulatory capital or ECL would be beneficial
