What is the Role:
Real Estate Finance (REF) is a specialist customer facing department in AIB Capital Markets. We are a team of 70 people with a mix of disciplines including Valuation Surveyors, data experts, economists and a Chartered Engineer who help us make better decisions.
We work collaboratively to play a vital role in ensuring that we play our part in addressing the housing situation by funding the development of A-rated homes in RoI. Working closely with the largest developers in the country, we also encourage them to improve further the sustainability credentials of those homes.
We fund institutional and large private investors for the purchase of commercial real estate assets across Ireland and in Europe through participation in large international syndicates. We work with these borrowers to develop a transition plan to improve the quality of their buildings.
We already have a broad variety of people working in the department and are seeking to hire new people into a number of roles across REF.
Having experience in property related lending is an advantage.
Key accountabilities;
- Commitment to managing and maintaining a strong relationship with existing clients, assisting the team with the provision of a first-class quality customised service to a broad customer base.
- Manage applications through the credit process, including the writing of papers and presentation at Credit Committee.
- Monitoring of covenant compliance and review of ongoing financial and non- financial information provided.
- Review legal documents, technical reports and construction/ operational updates from customers or advisors
- Enhance relationships with new and existing customers with good communication and customer focus
- Ensure compliance and administration obligations are satisfied to a high degree
What you Will Bring ;
- Relevant 3rd level qualification
- 4+ years' experience within a similar area which could include Banking, Advisory or Industry
- Strong financial analysis, strong credit skills and proficiency in financial modelling
- An ability to work on own initiative and interact as part of a highly motivated team, collaborate and be a positive team player.
- Experience in contributing to the preparation of credit applications and proficiency with Word and Excel. Credit assessment and credit management skills including cashflow analysis and financial modelling.
- Demonstrate an interest of macro-economic environment, industry and trends including sustainability.
- Team player with good communication and influencing skills
- Analytical mindset and results focussed
