There is currently 1 Chief Audiologist vacancy available in Community Healthcare Services, HSE South West, St. Finbarrs hospital, Douglas Rd, Cork.

A panel may be created from this campaign for the Laboratory Scientist (PALs), from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:

  • The Audiologist, Chief provides clinical management and leadership in the day-to-day running of the service by supporting and supervising staff, prioritising and allocating work and promoting positive staff morale. The post holder will hold a team leadership position with allocation of approximately 50% to operational service management administration and 50% clinical caseload allocation or as outlined by General Manager /ANCLA.
  • They provide a high quality audiology service with clinical responsibility for performing and interpreting a comprehensive range of audiological diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures with a high degree of autonomy for adults and children. Working as part of an integrated team, the Chief Audiologist undertakes complex scientific and clinical roles; analyzing, interpreting and comparing investigative and clinical options and making clinical judgments involving facts or situations that impact on patients.
  • The Audiologist, Chief supports the Assistant National Clinical Lead for Audiology in coordinating an integrated and patient centred audiology service in accordance strategic plans and recommendations for audiology service delivery. They play a lead role in developing an integrated team-based audiology service across both acute & community services in the relevant HSE Health Region in accordance with recommendations from the Audiology Clinical Care Programme.

Candidates must have:·

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in supervision and leading a team with knowledge and experience in HR procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in Quality assurance, implementing change, and implementing policies to ensure effective and safe service delivery.
