Auditor / Accountant

A very exciting opportunity has arisen to join our outstanding team in the beautiful Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort:

As a key member of the Finance team and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will perform financial, compliance, and operational control reviews, which includes evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the internal controls and proactively working with management to minimize risk.

Overview of the role & responsibilities

• Undertaking internal audits to ensure the company meets its financial, operational and compliance objectives
• Supporting the development of an assurance planning reporting process
• Reporting on control deficiencies to management and making recommendations to mitigate risk and add value
• Challenging current processes across the company and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Engaging redress of identified issues through follow-up
• Communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the company
• Drive accountability for controls into the relevant departments to enable Finance to act as reviewer and advisor of best practice.
• Manage financial control and reporting of Inventory, oversee inventory control systems, stock counts and procedures.
• Assist with the production of the monthly management accounts including Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Working on Ad-Hoc financial projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Accountant – 1 to 3 years PQE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Batchelors Degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Experience of working within the Hotel or Retail Sector
• Ability to build relationships across the business
• Demonstrated Commercial acumen
• Ability to work within a multi task, multi focus environment
• Strong MS Office skills with experience in data analytics
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to operate at the highest level of integrity and transparency
• Self-starter
