Hours of work Sunday to Thursday 6pm to 3am

Rate of pay: Starting from £14.05 per hour

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Oven Operator to join our busy bakery team. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced food production environment, operating bakery ovens to ensure products are baked to the highest quality and food safety standards.

Previous experience using kitchen or food production equipment is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right person who shows a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Operating bakery ovens and related equipment safely and efficiently

Monitoring baking times, temperatures, and product quality

Loading and unloading products in line with production schedules

Carrying out basic equipment checks and reporting any faults

Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and housekeeping

Working closely with team members to meet daily production targets

Health & Safety

Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling and PPE requirements.

Use equipment safely and report any faults, spillages, or hazards immediately.

Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times.

Teamwork & Communication

Work closely with Mixing, Bakery, and Production teams to support efficient workflow.

Take direction from Supervisors and communicate issues clearly and promptly.

Support training of new starters or temporary staff as required.

Carry out any reasonable duties in line with business needs.

Key Skills & Experience

About You

Experience using kitchen equipment or working in food production is an advantage

Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team

Comfortable working in a production environment and standing for long periods

Essential

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to follow systems and SOPs exactly.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills for recording data and measurements.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment.

Strong awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.

Desirable

Experience working in a food manufacturing or bakery environment.

Familiarity with ovens, weighing systems, batch control, or production software
