Job Title & Grade – Basic Grade Physiotherapist (Rotational)

Tenure - Temporary Full-Time and Part-Time

Hours of Work – 35 Hours – the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service

Department – Physiotherapy

Location of Post - Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin

Working Model - Fully Onsite

Remuneration - *Current salary scale with effect from February 1st: €45,063 (point 1) to €64,424 (point 14)

Annual Leave - As per Health Service Executive (HSE)

Closing Date – Tues 7th April 2026

Proposed Interview Date - To be confirmed - At least 1 weeks’ notice will be provided

Take Up Appointment - Successful applicant(s) must be available to take up the role within a reasonable timeframe

WHO ARE WE

Peamount Healthcare is an independent voluntary organisation that operates in partnership with the HSE Health Region, Dublin and Midlands to provide a range of health and social care services. Peamount Healthcare is a registered charity and is directly funded by the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004. The hospital provides consultant led, multidisciplinary, specialist rehabilitation services to patients at the right time and in the right place, which improve patient outcomes. Peamount Healthcare provides specialist rehabilitation in Neurology, Age-Related, Respiratory and Rheumatology. The services provided also include continuing care services for the older person, adults with neurological disabilities and individuals with intellectual disabilities.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

The provision of a quality Physiotherapy service in line with standards of Physiotherapy practice. To provide quality, client-centred Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to identified client groups at designated centres as directed by the Physiotherapy Manager including:

  • Respiratory (including outpatient service)
  • Older persons rehabilitation
  • Neurorehabilitation
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Rheumatology & musculoskeletal rehabilitation (including outpatient service)
  • Neuro-disability and prolonged disorders of consciousness
  • Residential services (older persons and intellectual disability)

POINT ON THE SCALE

  • New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale.
  • Clinical and Therapy Grades: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service, local authorities, public service, health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
