St. Michael’s House is a community-based voluntary organisation which provides facilities and services to over 1,900 adults and children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the greater Dublin area.

Psychologists in our Adult services work in multi-disciplinary teams to support our service-users, their families and frontline staff. The Psychology department is a dynamic group of mainly clinical psychologists with a variety of specialisms in the intellectual disability field. We offer supportive supervision, encourage research and service evaluation, maintain strong links with University training courses and value continuing professional development.

A Vacancy exists for 1 Full Time, Permanent Post for a Basic/Staff Grade Psychologist in Adult Services based primarily in the Ballymun clinic.

Applicants must have:

  • A post-graduate level qualification in Clinical or CounsellingPsychology that meets the requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health, for employment as a Basic Grade Psychologist.
  • Placement in an Intellectual Disability service as part of professional training.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with adults with intellectual disabilities who also have ASD or Dementia would be an advantage.
  • Full driving licence and the use of a car.

Panels of suitably qualified persons may be formed from which further vacancies may be filled.
