Building and Facilities Officer
Tenure of Employment
This is a permanent part-time post working 35 hours per fortnight. Compulsory retirement age is 70 years.
The successful candidate must:
• Possess a Qualification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Health and Safety or in a relevant discipline at not less than QQI Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
OR
• Possess a recognised trade qualification such as Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry or a related trade.
• Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant experience in a supervisor or manager role in facilities management, building maintenance management, construction management, property administration or a related field.
• Have experience liaising with contractors, suppliers and external service providers.
• Have experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks, including health and safety requirements.
• Have experience maintaining records, preparing reports and managing documentation.
• Have experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Hold a full clean driving licence and access to transport suitable for the requirements of the role.

Salary Scale: (pro rata) Grade VI (Clerical):
€58,477; €59,871; €61,572; €64,767; €66,677; €69,056; €71,442 LSIs
- Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due will be paid from date of submission of documents.
All new entrants to the Public Service will start at the first point of this scale.
The successful candidate must be free from any defect or disease, which would render him/her unsuitable to hold the appointment, and must be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. To satisfy this qualification, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination by the Occupational Health Nurse/Physician.
