Building Systems Manager
Purpose of the role
The Building Systems Manager will be responsible for the management, optimisation, and integration of key operational systems across a digitally enabled hospital estate. This includes CAFM systems, API-driven platforms supporting real-time monitoring, automation, compliance, and performance reporting working alongside the BMS Engineer.
A core responsibility of the role is to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and governance of building and asset data across all systems, recognising this as critical to operational efficiency, compliance assurance, and informed decision-making.
The role will look to ensure that systems are fully integrated, data-driven, and aligned to support efficient hospital operations, statutory compliance, and service delivery performance through continuity of service.
Essential Criteria
- A relevant degree level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), or substantial demonstrable operational experience in a comparable role
- Hands on operational FM experience managing CAFM systems in a healthcare or complex estate environment
- Understanding of BMS systems and building services
- Understanding of Common Data Environments and data management
- Experience with system integrations and API-based platforms
- Knowledge of maintenance management processes (reactive and PPM)
- Experience in compliance and statutory maintenance tracking
- Demonstrate evidence of operational CAFM system development, compliance management and strict data governance, principles and experience implementing control processes to maintain a “single source of truth”
- Experience supporting and responding to internal and external audits, with the ability to extract, validate, and present system data clearly
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret system data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with the use of system tools and dashboards.
