Bus Driver

Essential Criteria

• Must hold a valid full Bus licence (Category D1).
• Must be in receipt of Manual Handling Certificates.
• Excellent time management.

Desirable Criteria

• Skills in mechanics would be an advantage.
• The ability to work on his/her own initiative and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Principal Role and Responsibilities

(a) Completing daily vehicle checks.

(b) Completing required RSA paperwork.

(c) Upkeep of the vehicle, including cleaning and washing the bus at the end of each day.

(d) Reporting any defects discovered during the daily check to the Centre Manager.

(e) Collecting learners at their designated pick-up points each morning and driving them to the YouthReach Centre in Kingscourt.

(f) Returning learners from the Centre to their designated drop-off points each afternoon.

(g) Ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all passengers at all times.

(h) Being responsible for the safekeeping of lost property entrusted to his/her care pending the discovery of the owner.

(i) Carrying out such other similar duties as may be required and generally carrying out such instructions as may from time to time be given by the Centre Manager, Chief Executive, Director, or other responsible officer(s).

Shortlisting will take place on the basis of the information provided in the application.

During any shortlisting exercise that may be employed, CMETB examines the applications and assesses them against criteria based on the requirements of the position. It is therefore in candidates' own interests to provide a detailed and accurate account of all qualifications and experience to date in their application.

Salary

€16.00 per hour plus 8% holiday pay (holiday pay is paid three times annually at Easter, Summer, and Christmas).
