Business Development Executive

Job Overview Walton Institute is looking to hire a Business Development Executive to join its Technology Gateway Division. This role will place you at the heart of world class research, development and innovation in the ICT domain. This is a critical role which will involve interacting with both current and prospective clients to secure new opportunities for the Walton Institute in the ICT Research domain. Key Responsibilities/Duties • To increase business and maximise sales. • Proactively generate new contacts, leads and opportunities in line with the strategic direction of the organisation. • Promote the Walton Institute at a national level through attending industry events, and subsequently document outcome and planned actions. • Competently present the Walton Institute to potential clients and at industry events. • Capture client/prospective client requirements. • Maintain the CRM database, populating with new leads, opportunities and status updates. • Keep up to date on market trends and conditions. • Frequent interaction with all internal Walton Institute Research divisions. • Promptly communicate results of customer communications to the relevant parties in the Walton Institute. • Participate in the generation of proposals with the relevant Research divisions and commercial partners. • Liaise closely with the Marketing department, with particular attention to assisting with content for marketing collateral, website updates, case studies, testimonials, etc. • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients. • Liaise where relevant with organisations, such as Enterprise Ireland, and business networks. • Protect confidential information. • Carry out other such duties as determined and directed by the Director(s) of the Walton Institute/Technology Gateway Manager that contribute to the achievement of the strategic initiatives of the organisation.
Academic Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing or a relevant field. Or • Have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalentskills and experience.
Experience
• At least 2+ years relevant experience in Business Development/Technical Sales. • Excellent project management skills. Specific Knowledge and Skills
• A strong networker and experience of managing the client interface. • Possess strong business development skills. • Negotiation and collaboration skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
I.T. Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The Gross Salary applicable to this post is: €50,970 - €67,859 p.a. on a full-time basis.
