The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to drive growth for Almac’s global analytical services offering across the UK, Ireland and USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations, and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Working closely with internal analytical operations, project management and marketing teams, they will manage the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through to contract award.

The role offers the chance to make a significant commercial impact while promoting the capabilities of Almac’s analytical services sites in Craigavon, Athlone and Souderton.

This role will require international travel on a regular basis and coverage beyond normal working hours.

What we are looking for

Essential Criteria

• BSc (or equivalent) qualification in a Life Science related discipline

OR BSc (or equivalent) qualification in a Business Management related discipline along with relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry

• Experience in business development, sales, account management or commercial roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
• Demonstrated experience generating and winning new business opportunities.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles.
• Experience selling outsourced pharmaceutical services.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience selling into European biotech and pharmaceutical markets (Drug Substance & Drug Product - NCE and / or NBEs).
