Your Role:
As Business Partnering & Strategy Senior manager you will lead the CDAO Business Partnering & Strategy team and act as a key point of contact between the CDAO and key business areas, bridging the gap between the bank¿s strategic goals, innovation ambitions and Data, Analytics, and AI driven solutions.
You will facilitate data driven change and creating measurable business value. You will ensure that D&A initiatives are aligned to business priorities, effectively scoped, governed, and delivered with measurable impact. You will play a critical role in influencing demand, proactively identifying and framing innovative opportunities, and ensuring the successful adoption and value realisation of Data, Analytics, and AI solutions.
Your team will facilitate intake, discovery assessment, and project management of D&A change and translate business needs into data product and analytics use cases, and detailed requirements. You will lead the team in partnering with stakeholders and translating between D&A professionals and business areas, ensuring that data-driven solutions are understandable and effectively implemented across the organisation. You will ensure that ways of working between CDAO and other teams is effective in supporting overall strategic initiatives delivery.
Your Team:
You will lead the Business Partnering & Strategy team within the ¿Engage¿ pillar of the CDAO function with key responsibility for teams and capabilities across Business Partnering, Business Analysis, Project Management, Demand & Prioritisation, D&A Literacy, Strategy development, Risk management, and the CDAO Business Office.
You will support the team to partner with business areas, mobilise cross-functional teams, establish future states, develop business cases, and facilitate benefits tracking. You will report into the Head of Business Partnering & Advanced Analytics and lead a team of c. 10 people as well as external partners as required.
Your Responsibilities:
Functional Strategy & Delivery
- Cultivate a deep understanding of business unit objectives and challenges, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring that the analytics solutions provided are tailored to drive specific business outcomes and foster long-term partnerships.
- Strategically direct the prioritisation and delivery of complex business cases, defining options for achieving benefits through new or changed processes.
Risk Management & Control
- Implement robust risk management frameworks within the business partnering & strategy team ensuring that activities align with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Report on the progress of data & analytics initiatives and their impact on business outcomes and performance to the senior CDAO leadership and key business stakeholders.
Lead an inspiring Culture
- Strategically align the activities of business partnering & strategy and advanced analytics teams with the enterprise's long-term objectives, ensuring that data insights contribute to business growth and operational innovation.
- Guide the business partnering & strategy team to accurately describe requirements for analytics solutions that address specific business challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across various business units, enhancing the role of data & analytics in strategic decision-making and ensuring that insights are actionable and relevant.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of business unit objectives and challenges, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring that the data & analytics solutions provided are tailored to drive specific business outcomes and foster long-term partnerships.
Requirements:
Essential
- Minimum of 8+ years¿ experience and demonstrable track record of achievement in Data & Analytics, or a relevant area, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
- Proven track record of achievement in Data Analytics / Data Science or a relevant area, with experience in a leadership/management role.
- Relevant 3rd Level qualification (Degree, Masters) in a related field (IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics).
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management.
- Experience of change delivery in a leadership role within data analytics, managing and mentoring teams to high performance.
- Experience developing and delivering Data & Analytics Strategies.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to drive change within an organisation.
- Problem-solving skills with an ability to tie financial outcomes to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives, and carry out positive changes.
- Knowledge of the relevant regulatory obligations as they apply to the role e.g. GDPR, Data Protection Act & EU AI Act
