The Role:

Working within the Finance team, you will be responsible for preparing reports, analysing business performance and supporting decision-making across the company. The role combines reporting, data analysis, budgeting support and process improvement, using information from multiple systems to provide accurate insights and help improve business performance and efficiency. A blend of reporting, commercial analysis, FP&A support, and process improvement rather than an administration-focused finance role.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Performance & Analysis

  • Produce and analyse weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Monitor sales, stock, margins, store performance and key KPIs.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Review departmental spend and provide meaningful business insights.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Extract, validate and consolidate data from multiple business systems.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards and trackers.
  • Manage store target reporting, rolling target analysis and bonus calculations.
  • Deliver clear, accurate and timely reporting to management.

Financial Controls

  • Complete reconciliations across tills, credit cards, online payments and petty cash.
  • Investigate variances and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Support debtor reporting, expense management and compliance reporting.

Process Improvement

  • Review business processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Support and enhance AP Automation and Expense Management systems.
  • Drive reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills Required:

  • Advanced Excel skills with strong data analysis capability.
  • Experience producing meaningful reports and business insights.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Experience in finance, reporting, commercial analysis or retail analytics is desirable.
  • Awareness of emerging AI technologies and their application in the workplace would be advantageous but is not essential.
