The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who can operate in a very fast-paced environment. An ambitious and diligent assistant buyer or sales analyst who wants to progress in the retail industry and progress in the buying processes. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Ancillary & Head of Retail, this is a permanent position and is based in our Head Office in Swords.

The right candidate will ...

  • Successfully manage and contribute to the profitability by increasing the volume of products that are sold within each category, and improving the Average Spend by base. 
  • Achieve category goals, assisting and taking charge of the strategy, by managing underperforming routes and bases.
  • Have excellent ability to implement strategy and measure results, and be able to make decision and make a difference.
  • Have experience in financial analysis reporting and development of KPI's. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are essential skills.
  • Have the skills to maintain a productive relationship with suppliers and internally within the business and be able to influence people to get things done. Good people skills and the ability to easily establish a rapport with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds at all levels of employment is key.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and acute attention to detail are essential for the candidate to have.
  • The candidate must also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and will ensure that all files and supplier correspondence are kept up to date.
  • Be able to keep on top of all supplier management, product pricing & general administration including updating buying systems as appropriate.
  • Reporting and helping to resolve any issues pertaining to Chilled and Frozen range as well as the general product range.
  • Communicating promotions, price changes and new product information to the bases monthly so bases are kept informed and focused on the right objectives.
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in sales analysis crucial - Analysing data and reporting skills important in this role.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel Level 3, Outlook, Power point etc.)
  • An FMCG or Retail Buying office background.
  • 3rd Level Degree.
  • A passion for retailing and cost management.
  • Commercial edge and analytical acumen with strong numerical and forecasting skills.
  • Fantastic influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the supply chain process.
