Job Overview
Norbrook are now recruiting for a Canteen Cook to join our established Canteen team in Newry. Working as part of a small team you will help to produce and serve hot and cold food for employees, serve customers, and operate the till all whilst ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is always maintained.

Norbrook are now recruiting for a Canteen Cook to join our established Canteen team in Newry. Working as part of a small team you will help to produce and serve hot and cold food for employees, serve customers, and operate the till all whilst ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is always maintained.
Main Activities/Tasks
- Preparation of breakfast and lunch service for Norbrook employees
- Serve food to customers and handle cash transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and canteen area
- Taking receipt of deliveries and checking for accuracy
- Stock inventory and replenishing supplies as needed
- Stock rotation and proper storage of all food and drinks
- Monitor fridge temperatures and take the necessary action following any abnormal readings
- Completing the HACCP file daily and following COSHH procedures
- Assist at private functions as and when required
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns
- Educated to NVQ level 2 in a relevant qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience within a similar role; e.g. a school, college or work canteen
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate preferred but not essential
- The following skills and attributes will also be tested at application and interview stages:
- A strong “can do attitude”
- Willing to learn all elements of the daily canteen operation
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to the needs of role including occasional private functions
