Care Worker

The ASI is currently recruiting Care Workers for our Day Centre service in The Birches, Alzheimer Day Centre, Priorland Rd Dundalk, Co Louth. Eircode A91 Y004, who will report to the Day Centre Manager. These are specific purpose contracts. There are a number of roles available, ranging from 7 hours per week up to 35 hours per week. There is no evening or weekend work.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia in the Day Centre. You will need good communication and organizational skills and be able to work on your own initiative.

To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.

Candidates in this area must have a full clean driving license and access to a car to be considered for this role.

A FETAC Level 5 is desirable. Confidence in using IT/Email is also desirable.
