We are currently seeking a Cash Control Manager to join our team. This role is based in our Head Office in Dublin city centre.

Role Purpose

The Cash Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and safeguarding all cash-related activities across the retail estate. This role ensures strong financial controls, accurate cash reconciliation, efficient banking processes and reduced cash losses. The manager acts as the primary link between stores, finance, operations, and external cash-handling partners.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management & Reconciliation

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations for all retail locations.
  • Monitor variances, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of cash, card, digital payments, and voucher transactions into financial systems.
  • Maintain robust procedures for banking, cash pickups, and CIT (Cash-in-Transit) schedules.

Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over all cash-handling activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for cash-handling SOPs.

Loss Prevention & Issue Resolution

  • Analyse cash loss trends and provide actionable insights to reduce shrinkage.
  • Work with Store Operations to resolve recurring issues.
  • Oversee escalation and resolution of shortages, overages, and banking delays.

Systems & Reporting

  • Manage cash management and reconciliation tools, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Produce weekly and monthly management reports summarising trends, variances, KPIs, and risks.
  • Support finance with period-end close (e.g. journal entries, reconciliations).

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Lead and develop the Cash Control Team, setting objectives, KPIs, and training plans.
  • Act as primary liaison with Cash Processing Partners, CIT providers, and Technology teams.
  • Partner with Operations and Store teams to ensure compliance with cash-handling policies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate reconciliations, and reduce manual workload.
  • Support rollout of new payment technologies, store systems, and policy changes.

 Skills, Experience & Competencies

Essential Experience

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in cash control, retail finance, or financial operations.
  • Proven experience managing cash processes for multi-site retail or hospitality environments.
  • Strong understanding of cash-handling systems, POS, and reconciliation software.
  • Demonstrable experience leading small teams.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel/analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Understanding of banking processes, card settlement flows, and digital payment platforms.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Professional accounting certification or progress toward one (ACCA, CIMA) beneficial but not required.
